Members of the Espaillat family gather for a group photo during the Maj. Gen. Francisco A. Espaillat Victory Ball conducted Dec. 16, 2017, at the Rosen Shingle Creek resort in Orlando, Fla. The family accepted the 143d Sustainment Command (Expeditionary) invitation to attend the ball in honor of its former commander and fallen hero. The general commanded the 143d ESC during its deployment to Kuwait and Afghanistan from 2013-2014. Espaillat passed away April 8, 2017, while assigned as general officer support for the Office of the Chief of the Army Reserve at Fort Belvoir, Va. (U.S. Army photo by Sgt. John L.
