Butler accepts a leather sling during an award ceremony for the Far East Annual Marksmanship Competition on Camp Hansen, Okinawa, Japan, on Dec. 15, 2017. The purpose of the competition is to improve the marksmanship, proficiency, and combat readiness of the Marine Corps as well as provide an opportunity to win awards and advance to the Marine Corps Championship in Quantico, Virginia.
