U.S. Marine Corps Brig. Gen. Christopher A. McPhillips the commanding general of 3rd Marine Expeditionary Brigade, 3rd Marine Expeditionary Force gives a speech during the award ceremony for the Far East Annual Marksmanship Competition on Camp Hansen, Okinawa, Japan, on Dec. 15, 2017. The purpose of the competition is to improve the marksmanship, proficiency, and combat readiness of the Marine Corps as well as provide an opportunity to win awards and advance to the Marine Corps Championship in Quantico, Virginia.
