Chris Miller crosses Iwo Jima Street as he runs along Joseph Boll Avenue aboard Marine Corps Logistics Base Barstow, Calif., accompanied by a police car the morning of Dec. 5. Miller has put more than 2,800 miles of road under his feet since he began his run July 13 at Ellis Island, N.Y. He said he wants to inspire hope in those trying to recover from drug and alcohol addiction.
