    171212-M-UX416-103 U.S. 5TH FLEET AREA OF OPERATIONS (Dec. 12, 2017) - U.S. Sailors, Marines and French Navy sailors aboard a French roll-on/roll-off catamaran landing craft in preparation for amphibious training that will be rehearsed during Alligator Dagger – the premier integrated combat proficiency training for Naval Amphibious Force, Task Force 51, 5th Marine Expeditionary Brigade’s (TF 51/5) subordinate units entering the U.S. Central Command area of responsibility. French amphibious assault ship LHD Tonnerre, with embarked Marines and Sailors from the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit and TF 51/5, is conducting maritime security operations within the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations to ensure regional stability, freedom of navigation and the free flow of commerce.
