Luke Balthazar, the executive officer of the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit’s (MEU) Combat Logistics Battalion 15, fires a pistol during a small arms gun shoot aboard the San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock ship USS San Diego (LPD 22), Dec. 10, 2017. Pistol training ensures Marines and Sailors stay proficient and ready as a crisis-contingency force. San Diego is deployed with the America Amphibious Ready Group and 15th MEU to support maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 6th Fleet area of operations.
