The F-35As originally deployed to Kadena AB, Japan, in October as a part of the U.S. Pacific Command’s Theater Security Package program before moving to Korea to participate in VIGILANT ACE-18. The ability to “Accept Follow-on Forces” is one of the primary mission sets of the 8th Fighter Wing at Kunsan, and enables the wing’s ability to carry out its “Take the Fight North” mission.
