Staff Sgt. Jessica Reich, 3rd Squadron 4th Cavalry Regiment firefighter, plays here violin in the maintenance shop at Shindand Air Field, Afghanistan, almost every day to hone her skills. She is an accomplished musician and has been playing the violin for 17 years, ever since she was inspired by a featured violinist on "Sesame Street" at the age of 5. This 22-year-old reservist from Oshkosh, Wis. comes from a very musical family, each member playing at least two instruments. Reich often plays for her fellow soldiers from the control tower and during special events at Shindand.
