More than 300 youth volunteers pack the dock at Navy Pier in Chicago to help load some of the more than 1,200 Christmas trees onto trucks for distribution to needy families, Dec. 2, 2017. This was the 18th year the Coast Guard and Chicago maritime community have partnered to reenact the tradition of the original Chicago Christmas Tree Ship which brought trees to Chicago from northern Michigan for needy families more than 100 years ago.
