U.S. FIFTH FLEET AREA OF OPERATIONS —Marines with the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit’s Force Reconnaissance Detachment pose for a photo with local camel experts and Desert Warfare Institute instructors assigned to the Emirati armed forces. Instruction on camel packing, how to use a specific harness made to carry equipment aboard a camel, and camelback riding was provided to the Marines as part of Bedouin Falcon, an engagement conducted concurrently with Iron Magic 2018, Oct. 27, 2017. Iron Magic 18 is an Amphibious Force, Task Force 51, 5th Marine Brigade annual bilateral engagement designed to enhance capabilities in critical mission sets inherent to the U.S. Navy-Marine Corps team operating within the U.S. Central Command area of responsibility.
