U.S. FIFTH FLEET AREA OF OPERATIONS — Lance Cpls. Colby Menedez and Erik Bowman, mortarmen with the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit’s Battalion Landing Team, 1st Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, fill sand bags to hold down targets for a course of fire during Iron Magic 2018, Oct. 26, 2017. Marines qualified on the range for a lowlight course of fire in order to sustain their marksmanship skills while forward deployed. Iron Magic 18 is an Amphibious Force, Task Force 51, 5th Marine Brigade annual bilateral engagement designed to enhance capabilities in critical mission sets inherent to the U.S. Navy-Marine Corps team operating within the U.S. Central Command area of responsibility.
