The first North Dakota Air National Guard 178th Fighter Squadron T-6 Texan aircraft on the flight line at Hector Field, Fargo, N.D., January 1947. The first unit flight occurred Jan. 20, 1947 and was flown by Lt. Col. Richard Neece, who was the first 178th Fighter Squadron commander.
