As summer begins in southern Afghanistan, service members continue to look for innovative ways to beat the heat. Thompson is a member of Joint Sustainment Command – Afghanistan comprised of the 184th Expeditionary Sustainment Command, a Mississippi Army National Guard unit headquartered in Laurel, Miss. The unit has been deployed to Afghanistan since early October in support of logistics operations for Operation Enduring Freedom.
