Veterans of the World War II era 103rd Infantry Division, their family members and escorts, attend a memorial dedication to the unit in Scherwiller, France, on Nov. 11 2017. The 103rd ID liberated the Alsatian town from the Nazis on Dec. 1, 1944. Pictured here (seated, left to right) are retired Col. Cranston Rogers (who served as a private in the 103rd) and his wife, Ronald Curry (son of 103rd ID Veteran, 2nd Lt. Alvin Curry), Calvin Landau (who served as a sergeant in the 103rd). Behind Curry, center, is Capt. Daniel Jost, an escort from the 7th Mission Support Command, and Helen Patton, granddaughter of Gen. George Patton. (Photo by Sgt. 1st Class John Freese)
