WESTERN PACIFIC (Nov. 13, 2017) Aviation Boatswain's Mate (Handling) 3rd Class Michael Etzkorn stands on the flight deck aboard the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz (CVN 68), as an MH-60R Sea Hawk helicopter assigned to the “Wolf Pack” of Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron (HSM) 75 prepares to lift off. The Nimitz Carrier Strike Group is on a regularly scheduled deployment in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations in support of maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts. The U.S. Pacific Fleet has patrolled the Indo-Pacific routinely for more than 70 years promoting regional security, stability and prosperity.
