D.C.-area service members participate in the Washington Redskins Salute to Service match-up against the Minnesota Vikings at FedEx Field on Nov. 12. The event required 107 service members alone to unveil a field-length American flag during the National Anthem while four UH-1N Huey’s from Joint Base Andrews 1st Helicopter Squadron conducted a flyover above a thunderous stadium crowd. The game is part of a month-long collaboration with the USO of Metropolitan Washington – Baltimore, that has evolved into a NFL tradition to honor active duty military members and veterans.
