Clay Williams, Phos-Chek Fire Safety Group, and Jacob Barton hook up hoses to powdered fire retardant in order to feed it into a machine that will mix it with water so it is ready for use, Dyess Air Force Base, Texas, April 26. Phos-Chek fire retardant includes a red dye and fertilizer which helps airborne crews determine where it has been dropped and promotes plant growth after the fire.
