GUAYAMA, Puerto Rico – Retired Army Capt. Carmen Cintron walks with some of the more than 690 dogs at the Canita Sanctuary of the Divine Mercy, an animal sanctuary located here. Cintron founded the sanctuary in 2004 to help the injured, sick, and abandoned animals of Puerto Rico.
