Kettlecamp was one of more than 280 U.S. Army Corps of Engineers employees who volunteered to work as a quality assessor in Florida after Hurricane Irma. The roof assessement would determine whether a roof was eligiblie for Operation Blue Roof, a program that sends licensed contractors out to homes to cover hurricane-damaged roofs with fiber-reinforced plastic sheeting (tarp) until homeowners can arrange repairs.
