Quality assessors from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' Operation Blue Roof pose for a photo after a team meeting in early October, 2017. More than 240 Corps employees volunteered to work as an assessor after Hurricane Irma. The teams' roof assessments would determine whether a roof was eligiblie for Operation Blue Roof, a program that sends licensed contractors out to homes to cover hurricane-damaged roofs with fiber-reinforced plastic sheeting (tarp) until homeowners can arrange repairs. As of Saturday, Oct. 14, 2017, QAs from the central part of Florida had driven more than 15,000 miles in order to log more than 1,200 assessments. (Courtesy photo)
