Sgt. 1st Class Bryon Peterson and Master Sgt. Scott Brewer stand with Valley City residents and neighbors Tyler Vanbruggen and C.J. Kotta at a cookout at Kotta's home to support National Guard members fighting the flood here April 23. The cookout was just one way local residents have used to thank National Guardsmen for their help during this year's flood. Dozens were able to attend before their nightshift began or after their dayshift ended April 23.
