A U.S. Air Force C-17 Globemaster III pilot from the 816th Expeditionary Airlift Squadron performs preflight checks before combat airlift operations for U.S. and coalition forces in Syria in support of Operation Inherent Resolve, Nov. 4, 2017. The C-17 is capable of rapid strategic delivery of troops and all types of cargo to bases throughout the U.S. Central Command area of responsibility.
