Spc. William Case, left, of Battery C, 1st Battalion, 188th Air Defense Artillery Regiment, and Pfc. Nathan Erickson, with Headquarters and Headquarters Battery of the 1-188th ADA, patrol a section of dike in Pembina, N.D., April 21, 2011. They periodically walk flood protection levees to make sure there are no erosion areas developing that can turn into major flood barrier breaches. Guardsmen in Pembina County are working closely with community members in an effort to keep towns and rural homes safe from encroaching floodwaters.
