Local Government Liaison Johann Sasso recently briefed some of the Puerto Rico Emergency Management Agency’s emergency managers on all services the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers can provide to municipalities and how they can be requested. As part of Hurricane Maria recovery efforts, Sasso, explained various USACE missions to include temporary “Blue Roof” program, temporary emergency power, Non-Federal generators, infrastructure assessments and critical public facilities. LGLs serve as the communications conduit between the federal response team and local governments providing assistance and advice during response and recovery missions.
