Col. Jon Howerton, deputy commander for maneuver, 2nd Infantry Division, along with city officials commemorate the units centennial anniversary in a ceremony, Oct. 26, where patrons were able to pay tribute to the fallen heroes that fought alongside their Soldiers during World War I and again in World War II. American Soldiers from 2nd ID lived, fought and bled alongside their allies in the defense of liberty. After a century, 2nd ID continues to stand ready to fight and look forward to the future.
