U.S. Marines with 1st Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion, 1st Marine Division, use a scout sniper observation telescope to conduct a reconnaissance mission during Exercise Southern Katipo 17 (SK17) at St. Arnaud, New Zealand, Oct. 25, 2017. The U.S. Marines and some New Zealand Defense Force (NZDF) members role played as part of the opposition forces during SK17, a large scale exercise hosted by the NZDF with 16 participating nations playing various supporting roles.
