ARABIAN GULF (Oct. 21, 2017) U.S. Navy Aviation Boatswain's Mate (Equipment) 3rd Class Damian Gusme, left, from Montgomery, Ala., and U.S. Navy Aviation Boatswain's Mate (Equipment) 2nd Class Jordan Nelms, from Tampa Bay, Fla., sit on the flight deck as an EA-18G Growler, from the “Gray Wolves” of Electronic Attack Squadron (VAQ) 142, is launched from the flight deck of the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz (CVN 68), Oct. 21, 2017, in the Arabian Gulf. Nimitz is deployed in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations in support of Operation Inherent Resolve. While in this region, the ship and strike group are conducting maritime security operations to reassure allies and partners, preserve freedom of navigation, and maintain the free flow of commerce.
