171016-N-CZ893-0111 ARABIAN GULF (Oct. 16, 2017) Information Systems Technician 3rd Class Brandin Heidrick, assigned to the coastal patrol ship USS Hurricane (PC 3), prepares to board the U.S. Coast Guard patrol cutter USCGC Wrangell (WPB 1332) during a visit, board, search, and seizure (VBSS) drill in the Arabian Gulf. USS Hurricane is one of 10 coastal patrol ships assigned to Naval Surface Squadron (CNSS) 5, which is forward deployed to Manama, Bahrain, in support of maritime security operations and theatre security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations.
