The fast attack submarine USS Tucson, the guided-missile cruisers USS Lake Erie and USS Port Royal, the guided-missile destroyers USS Chung-Hoon, USS Russell, USS Chafee and the Military Sealift Command fleet replenishment oiler USNS Yukon transit in waters surrounding the island of Oahu during the Koa Kai photo exercise. Hawaii-based surface Navy and other combatant units participated in Koa Kai 11-2, an integrated training event with the goal of attaining deployment certificates and training.
