    171013-N-RD713-011 SASEBO, Japan (Oct. 13, 2017) Mass Communication Specialist 2nd Class Diana Quinlan, from Riga, Latvia, and Gunnery Sgt. Hughey Donald, from Petersburg, Va., both assigned to the amphibious assault ship USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6), participate in a command-sponsored sports day held at Nimitz Park, U.S. Fleet Activities Sasebo, as part of a celebration of the U.S. Navy’s 242nd birthday. To celebrate the Navy and build command unity, Sailors competed in a variety of team events, including soccer, flag football, softball, ultimate frisbee, kickball, volley ball, tug-of-war, and a relay race. Bonhomme Richard, forward-deployed to Sasebo, Japan, is serving forward to provide a rapid-response capability in the event of a regional contingency or natural disaster.
