The Vietnam Veterans Plaza is located at 55 Water Street, in the heart of New York's financial district. On March 30, 1973, the United States Armed Forces completed the withdrawal of combat units and combat support units from South Vietnam. In 2011, the U.S. Senate passed a resolution making March 30th 'Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Day.' For the last 38 years Vietnam veterans have been fighting for recognition and respect.
