Andrew Pierce, 66th Security Forces Squadron Resource protection NCO in charge, issues a Defense Biometrics Identification System ID to Kimberly Elizabeth Carlson-Benner, a Gold Star family member, at Hanscom Air Force Base, Mass., Sept. 6. Issuing DBIDS ID cards to Gold Star family members is part of an Air Force initiative that allows unescorted access to Air Force installations to visit buried loved ones, attend base events and stop by the Airman and Family Readiness Center for immediate and long-term emotional support.
