PORTLAND, Ore. (Oct. 13, 2017) — Information Systems Technician Seaman Apprentice Laderlynn Griffin, a native of Philadelphia, Miss., and Military Sealift Command Electronics Technician Roberto Ames, cut the cake for the U.S. Navy's 242nd Birthday on the mess decks on board the submarine tender USS Frank Cable (AS 40), Oct. 13. A sword is used to cut the cake as a reminder that Sailors are a band of warriors, committed to carrying arms so that our nation may live in peace.
