Holy Ghost Lutheran School and Church from Sand Born, NY, adopted Charlie Battery, 1st Battalion 7th Field Artillery Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division. The connection with this school is a former Soldier of Charlie Battery. John Parinelli, who served with Charlie Battery during their previous deployment in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom II, was medically retired due to wounds received during that deployment.
