171009-N-RD713-518 SASEBO, Japan (Oct. 9, 2017) Sailors assigned to the amphibious assault ship USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6) and Royal Australian Navy (RAN) Sailors assigned to the Anzac-class frigate HMAS Parramatta (FFH 154), pose for a photo at Nimitz Park, U.S. Fleet Activities Sasebo following a soccer game. The soccer tournament, held during Parramatta’s scheduled port visit to Sasebo, Japan, highlighted the camaraderie and longstanding relationship between the U.S. Navy and RAN. Bonhomme Richard, forward-deployed to Sasebo, Japan, is serving forward to provide a rapid-response capability in the event of a regional contingency or natural disaster.
