Col. Yoshitomo Takahashi, professor of behavioral science, National Defense Medical College, gives a presentation to an audience of mental health experts here March 31. Takahashi discussed the current mental health infrastructure in place as well as identifying expected needs and areas that where American input and experience would be welcomed. Japanese and American psychiatry and mental health professionals met at a symposium here to exchange information and discuss ways to treat mental health issues survivors of the March 11 earthquake and tsunami may experience.
