Soldiers of the 949th Transportation Company (Floating Craft), a U.S. Army Reserve watercraft unit stand proudly at their Welcome Home Warrior Citizen Ceremony held here April 1. Sixteen soldiers returned from the recent deployment to Kuwait. The WHWC Ceremony is a program approved by the U.S. Congress to honor all members of the Army Reserve who served in the Global War on Terror. Each Army Reserve soldier who has answered the nation's call will be presented an encased American flag, a specially-designed commemorative coin and certificate, a lapel pin set for the Soldier and spouse, and a 'Welcome Home Warrior-Citizen' flag.
