171004-N-BK384-813 MEDITERRANEAN SEA (Oct. 4, 2017) U.S. Marines assigned to the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) participates in a combat lifesavers course (CLS) in the main vehicle storage area aboard the San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock ship USS San Diego (LPD 22) Oct. 4, 2017. CLS is a class designed to provide Marines skills that will allow them to better assess and react to injuries while in a high-stress environment before being treated by a higher echelon of medical care. San Diego is deployed with the America Amphibious Ready Group and the 15th MEU to support maritime security and theater security cooperation in efforts in the U.S. 6th Fleet area of operations.
