U.S Marine Corps Maj. Gregory Scott, 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit operations officer, briefs U.S. Air Force Maj. Gen. Timothy Sharpy, Joint Forces Land Component Commander deputy commander in charge of air operations, about operations in and around Mercedita Airport in Ponce, Puerto Rico, Oct. 8, 2017. The airport serves as a joint center for air mobility operations, staging, loading and unloading cargo in support of disaster relief efforts in Puerto Rico. The Department of Defense is providing joint relief efforts to support the Federal Emergency Management Agency in helping those affected by Hurricane Maria to minimize suffering as part of the overall whole-of-government response efforts. Scott is a native of Avon, Indiana.
