U.S. Air Force Maj. Gen. Timothy Sharpy, Joint Forces Land Component Commander deputy commander in charge of air operations, talks to U.S. Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Wyatt King, 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit radio traffic clerk, and Corporal Hesgor Rios, 26th MEU radio operator, at Mercedita Airport in Ponce, Puerto Rico, Oct. 8, 2017. The airport serves as a joint center for air mobility operations, staging, loading and unloading cargo in support of disaster relief efforts in Puerto Rico. The Department of Defense is providing joint relief efforts to support the Federal Emergency Management Agency in helping those affected by Hurricane Maria to minimize suffering as part of the overall whole-of-government response efforts. King is a native of Hannibal, Missouri, and Rios is a native of Midland, Texas.
