With engines still running on the C-130 Hercules aircraft from the 41st Airlift Squadron, 19th Airlift Wing, Little Rock Air Force Base, Little Rock, Ark., Colorado Army National Guard High Mobility Artillery Rocket System crew chief Staff Sgt. Brian Reynolds from 3rd Battalion, 157th Field Artillery, out of Colorado Springs, Colo., commands his team from atop the vehicle as they prepare to conduct a hot-panel simulated fire mission moments after unloading from the aircraft at Camp Red Devil, Fort Carson, Colo., Sept. 20, 2017.
In support of exercise War Horse Strike, this joint mission between 3-157th FA and the 41st Airlift Squadron, 19th Airlift Wing from Little Rock Air Force Base, not only helped meet the battalion’s requirement to airlift their HIMARS and conduct “hot panel” training in field conditions, but gave the C-130 crew experience with this type of cargo under flying conditions similar to those in Afghanistan while operating out of unimproved runway surfaces.
