Petty Officer 2nd Class Alejandra Gutierrezalba, logistics specialist, assigned to the amphibious assault ship USS Essex, donates items to be delivered to the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force helicopter destroyer JS Hyuga and distributed to residents of Japan displaced by the March 11 earthquake and tsunami. Essex and embarked members of the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit are operating off the coast of Kesennuma in northeastern Japan supporting Operation Tomodachi.
