Camp Pendleton (September 29, 2017) Col. Clay C. Tipton the commanding officer of the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit, congratulates the command element for successfully completed the conditioning hike on Camp Pendleton, California. The initial hike for the unit consisted of a 3.5-mile hike at a rigorous pace. The purpose of the conditioning hike is to target key areas, which are involved with propelling the body forward while also improving cardiovascular fitness, endurance, flexibility, strength and most importantly unit cohesion.
