U.S. Air Force Gen. John Hyten, commander of U.S. Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM), presides over the Joint Functional Component Command for Global Strike (JFCC GS) inactivation ceremony at the Patriot Club on Offutt Air Force Base, Neb., Oct. 2, 2017. USSTRATCOM inactivated JFCC GS as part of the command’s restructure of its components to build a coherent and streamlined warfighting structure. The restructure will enhance integration throughout the deterrence enterprise and more closely match the organizational structure of other warfighting commands.
