Garkey, Commander, 3d U.S. Infantry Regiment (The Old Guard), presents the Buff Strap to a Soldier during a Regimental Orientation Program (ROP) graduation ceremony in Conmy Hall, Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall, Va., Oct. 2, 2017. Approved for use in 1922, The Buff Strap is one of only a few Distinctive Unit Trimmings that survives in the United States Army.
