170917-N-KW679-0057 PHILIPSBURG, Sint Maarten (September 17, 2017) A pilot vessel and tugboat pull away from expeditionary fast transport vessel USNS Spearhead (T-EPF 1) as it departs the island of St. Martin. Spearhead assisted in humanitarian aid and disaster relief efforts for people affected by Hurricane Irma. SPS 17 is a U.S. Navy deployment executed by U.S. Naval Forces Southern Command/U.S. 4th Fleet, focused on subject matter expert exchanges with partner nation militaries and security forces in Central and South America.
