From left, Petty Officer 1st Class Joseph Friedman, Senior Chief Petty Officer Keith Arneson, Petty Officer 1st Class Kenneth Ray Horton, Chief Petty Officer Patrick White and Petty Officer 1st Class Jeremy Middleton whoop it up during a performance at Momo's during the South by Southwest Music Festival in Austin, Texas. All are members of the U.S. Navy Band Country Current, a country-bluegrass group and the Navy's premier country music ensemble. In order for the band to participate in the festival, they had to perform only original music that members of the group wrote. Country Current's performance marks the first time a Navy band participated in the festival and was part of Austin Navy Week. Navy Weeks are designed to showcase the investment Americans have made in their Navy as global force for good and increase awareness in cities that do not have a significant Navy presence. Austin Navy Week began March 19 and runs through March 26.
