Children attending the 2017 Marine Corps Air Station Miramar Air Show at MCAS Miramar, Calif., play with Sparky the dog, the mascot for Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting, as the 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing band marches through the crowd, Sept. 23. The theme for the air show is “A Salute to Vietnam Veterans” and features several performances and displays recognizing the sacrifices of Vietnam veterans. The air show also showcases world-class civilian performers, military flight demonstration teams, capabilities of the Marine Air-Ground Task Force and celebrates our longstanding relationship with our neighbors in the local San Diego community.
