170916-N-UK248-321 U.S. 5TH FLEET AREA OF OPERATIONS (Sept. 16, 2017) Sailors and Marines assigned to the amphibious dock landing ship USS Pearl Harbor (LSD 52) participate in a steel beach picnic on the ship’s flight deck hosted by the chiefs mess and the Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) committee. Pearl Harbor is part of the America Amphibious Ready Group (ARG) and, with the embarked 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), is deployed in support of maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations.
