During the Battle of the Pusan Perimeter, Pfc. Joseph R. Ouellette, Company H, 9th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division, Dodged enemy fire to retrieve water, ammunition and grenades for his comrades. Ouellette left cover six times to ensure his comrades could survive before perishing. For his actions, Ouellette was awarded the Medal of Honor. Ouellette joined the Army from his hometown of Lowell, Mass.
